In the last week I can almost see the growth on the plants and we have been harvesting peas and dwarf french beans. I even pulled a carrot to see what was below ground.
The green broccoli/calabrese are forming little heads,so now time to give them a little liquid feed of my homemade comfrey/nettle mix....
And just in case I don't have enough tomato plants I sowed some old seeds to see if they would germinate....guess what....half of them did. They are black russian, beefsteak, and a shop bought pear shaped tomato.I will find spaces for them all somewhere ;)
More peas are popping for a later crop outside...and more dwarf french beans are coming along nicely...
I am quite pleased with my sweetcorn,as I have only ever grown it once before,a long time ago...
The one strawberry plant in the tunnel is the granny of all strawberries....and the outdoor strawberry bed has lots of green fruit waiting for some sun to ripen them..
This is my 2 blueberry bushes third year and each year there are more berries.I know these require acidic soil, but mine are just in my ordinary soil...
As we had a bit of a lazy weekend and tea for 2 in our "Sheebeen" down the end of our garden, my plan for the coming week is to catch up on a bit of weeding, the weeds are growing just as fast as the veggies...
Thanks for stopping by and the kettle is always on the boil ;)
Cheers,
Catherine C.

ReplyDeleteI just couldn't wait to check on the depth and length of the carrots, will leave the rest alone now.I sowed my corn earlier than some people said so, but they are in the tunnel so are doing good, just hope to get at least one cob per plant. Thanks Flighty x
